The Green Flag Award is the benchmark international standard for parks and green spaces. It was first launched in 1996 to recognize and reward the best green spaces in the UK and the first awards were granted the following year. The award encourages the achievement of high environmental standards in parks and sets a standard of excellence in recreational green areas.
Lepaa Campus applied for the certification in spring 2016 and the Green Flag Award was granted on June 2nd, 2016. The certification was renewed for 2017/18.
