Regional Bright Green Innovations
Time: 1.6.2015 – 31.12.2017
The Regional Bright Green Innovation project is based on the solid foundation of Bright Green Forssa Region, which is the common official development strategy of the municipalities in the region.
Forssa is one of the three cities in Sitra's pilot program of the Network of Resource Wisdom Cities the others being Turku and Lappeenranta. In the Regional Bright Green Innovations project, Forssa and HAMK will implement the resource wisdom road maps towards 2050 created in Sitra's pilot program. This refers to all actions aiming to a situation where there is no waste, no greenhouse gases and no over consumption without putting the sustainable wellbeing of region's people and environment in danger.
There are several targets in the Regional Bright Green Innovations Project. The aim is to develop Forssa as a resource wisdom center of the mentioned network of the resource wisdom cities. This will help in progressing the regional strategy of Bright Green Forssa Region and that will benefit also the regional cleantech business. The other target is to implement concrete actions on the basis of the resource wisdom road maps towards 2050. These actions will lead to so called bright green innovations by both the public and private sector. Municipalities will intensify and rationalize their services and will give more attention to new innovations in their investment policies. This will support private sector in launching new innovations. The project will also arrange various meetings, workshops, etc. to bring entrepreneurs, inventors, financiers and developers together. These occasions will help in developing new innovations and in getting developers (HAMK and Natural Resources Institute, Luke and financiers closer to entrepreneurs. These occasions will be also used to train entrepreneurs in intellectual property rights (IPR).
Regional Bright Green Innovations Project will put lot of efforts in dissemination. This is to develop the brand of the Bright Green Forssa Region, to advice and help small and medium size companies in developing new innovations and also to deliver resource wisdom policy among the whole society. Without common acceptance of the idea of resource wisdom and circular economy there will be less demand and market for new innovations. Keeping students of HAMK involved in various stages Regional Bright Green Innovations project will ensure that results of the project will last long and most of the activities will actually continue developing while the resource wisdom road maps are targeting to the year 2050.
