Sheet Metal Centre is now HAMK Tech
The research activities of Häme University of Applied Sciences are being developed and strengthened and as a part of this, the names of the research units are being harmonised. From today onwards, Sheet Metal Centre will be HAMK Tech.
The research unit was established twenty years ago and during these two decades, it has gained a leading position nationally in its original areas of activity – research related to sheet metal products and steel construction. These traditional areas of research will be strengthened further and the contact persons of our customers will remain the same – only the name of the organisation will change.
Jarmo Havula, Director of Research Unit, sees the new name HAMK Tech as a great opportunity: “During the last few years we have expanded the scope of our activities into new areas of technology solutions. Our operations now include research activities related to 3D technologies, energy efficiency of buildings as well as robotics. The new name HAMK Tech describes the current activities better and also enables a further expansion in the future.”
