SOSTRA project recognized soft skills for over 120 adult educators
The developed competence-based and open badge-driven process was a flexible and personalized way to improve soft skills. The project increased educators and HR´s awareness in the area of soft skills competences.
The Erasmus+ KA2 Strategic partnership project, which ended in September 2020 focused on the improvement of soft skills and has gained interest towards the improvement of soft skills. It is clearly seen that this topic needs more open dialogue at all levels and has raised discussion on what is the need for soft skills, how to classify them, and how to teach them. Soft skills are quite difficult to understand on a deeper level and see differences between competence, skill and knowledge. During the project, 15 key soft skills were recognized, and a digital learning process was created which allowed the target groups to recognize previous skills and learn and develop new skills.
The piloting process (spring 2020) raised wider awareness of digital badging, as well of soft skills development. During the piloting period 123 adult educators around Europe completed 274 digital badges and received recognition for their soft skills. Digital learning badges were available in six different languages during the piloting period for 15 different soft skills. The learning materials are still available for at least two years after the end of the project (until 30.9.2022) on the project website www.sostra.eu.
