HAMK is Part of an Award Winning Programme Gira Mundo
State of Paraíba, Brazil has been sending teachers to Häme University of Applied Sciences for a Professional Development programme.
The Secretary of Education of the State of Paraíba, Brazil received the AFS Award for Innovation in Global Education for a Policy Maker in 2018. Since 2016, the State of Paraíba, Brazil has been sending teachers to Häme University of Applied Sciences for a Professional Development programme under the concept Gira Mundo, Around the World.
The AFS recognized the dedication of the Secretary of Education of the State of Paraíba, Alessio Trindade de Barros’ to educational policy-making at global level in Budapest, Hungary end of September in an international award ceremony. The award was received by Mr Allyson Rodrigues da Silva, a student of the Gira Mundo student exchange programme, and Mr. Martti Majuri, Director of RDI Unit for Professional Excellence from HAMK. The Gira Mundo programme is broad and extends from student and teacher exchange to professional development of teachers.
The AFS operates in over 60 different countries and promotes innovative ideas that develop global competence in schools, workplaces and societies. Every year, the AFS organizes a global conference to collect together policy makers, educators, business leaders, social entrepreneurs and NGOs.
