The international contact person in your degree programme and HAMK’s International Office will help you in matters related to international affairs. Below you will find the list of contacts.
HAMK’s International Office is responsible for the coordination and organisation of student and staff mobility at HAMK. The International Office informs and gives guidance on international opportunities and supports students and staff in the development and recognition of international competence. The office maintains and compiles statistics on HAMK’s international mobility is responsible for the administration of mobility. The office administers international partnerships and also the Beyond alliance between HAMK, Feevale University in Brazil and Via University College in Denmark.

The international contact person in your degree programme provides guidance and counselling for outgoing and incoming exchange students. The tasks include guidance concerning destinations, grants and documents.

Living and Learning Abroad – module for outgoing students
This course enhances the students’ intercultural competence as an outcome of their exchange period abroad. This training course is for students who have been accepted for student exchange or placement abroad. On completion of this course, the student will be able to identify the basic concepts in intercultural communication, understand the cultural influence in behaviour and communication, understand the adjustment process to a new culture, and will manage emotions in the face of ambiguity, change, and challenging circumstances and people. The course consists of three phases: pre-departure before exchange period, in-country while on exchange and re-entry after return.
