More than 900 applications to HAMK international programmes submitted in the spring

More than 140 applicants applied for international programmes at the Häme University of Applied Sciences. Applicants for international training programmes in the spring represent more than 90 nationalities.

More than 900 applications have come in the spring for HAMK’s international degree programmes. One out of four of the applicants were Finns. There were more than 140 applicants in a separate direct application process which concluded on April 30, 14 of whom were Finns. HAMK opened up a separate application process after the joint application process in order to better serve applicants and to extend the application period.

Most of the foreign students who applied for HAMK in the spring come from countries outside Europe. The applicants represented more than 90 nationalities. Tuition fees have not had a significant impact on what countries the applicants come from. Most of the applicants from outside the EU and EEA countries are to pay an annual tuition fee of between 8,700 and 9,700 euros.

The most popular HAMK degree programme among international applicants was International Business.

International HAMK

Internationalism is important for HAMK. There are currently about 700 foreign students at HAMK from about 50 countries.

In 2011 HAMK signed strategic partnership agreements with the Brazilian Feevale University and Denmark’s VIA University College. Cooperation is taking place on both a strategic level in the development of institutions of higher education and in education and research activities. In addition, HAMK has about 100 institutions in Europe with which it engages in cooperation. There are about 20 in Asia, North and South America, Russia, and Africa.
