Open studies

Learning via open studies

HAMK’s Open Studies are available for all who want to study at university level. Open Studies are meant to support lifelong learning.

They may be the beginning of your degree studies, you may improve your professional skills by studying or update the know-how you already have. Virtual courses suit those who want to study whenever and wherever they like.

All HAMK’s open studies are integral parts of education leading to a degree. Courses and modules are suitable for those who want to study less at a time. Study path suits those who aim at degree studies. Studying the path takes one academic year if you pursue a degree student place on a Bachelor level. The study path to become a Master’s degree student takes the first semester.

Open Studies are not awarded with a degree but if you decide to apply for degree education and you are admitted, the studies completed and approved will be credited towards a degree at HAMK University of Applied Sciences.

Student places are filled on a first come first accepted principle and the number of places is limited.

Open Studies of HAMKs’ students who have lost their right to study

If you have lost your right study after discretionary extension period, you may continue your studies at HAMK’s Open University. The first semester, which begins right after the discretionary extension period, is free of charge. From then on, the charge is 10€ / credit or 300 € / academic year.
