Learning via open studies
HAMK’s Open Studies are available for all who want to study at university level. Open Studies are meant to support lifelong learning.
They may be the beginning of your degree studies, you may improve your professional skills by studying or update the know-how you already have. Virtual courses suit those who want to study whenever and wherever they like.
All HAMK’s open studies are integral parts of education leading to a degree. Courses and modules are suitable for those who want to study less at a time. Study path suits those who aim at degree studies. Studying the path takes one academic year if you pursue a degree student place on a Bachelor level. The study path to become a Master’s degree student takes the first semester.
Open Studies are not awarded with a degree but if you decide to apply for degree education and you are admitted, the studies completed and approved will be credited towards a degree at HAMK University of Applied Sciences.
Student places are filled on a first come first accepted principle and the number of places is limited.
Open Studies of HAMKs’ students who have lost their right to study
A former student of HAMK who has started studies on 1.8.2015 or after can re-apply for right to study. He/she can have a maximum of 60 (Bachelor´s degree) or 30 (Master’s degree) ECTS credits uncompleted degree studies left.
The studies can be included in the degree and it is possible to complete the degree at HAMK.
If the student has more than 60 (Bachelor´s degree) or 30 (Master’s degree) credits to complete he/she can begin the studies as Open UAS student and apply later for right to study. Fees for HAMK students are based on time: 0.5 years / 250 € and 1 year / 400 €. The fee is not tied to the number of credits. Tuition fees are invoiced at the start of studies.
