Work Placement in Mechanical Engineering and Production Technology

13.11.2018 14:26

The extent of the Work placement is 30 credits so that one week of full-time work placement related to your field of study provides 1.5 credits.

Work placement should be carried out at least in two parts.

A minimum duration of a training period should be one month.

Students should find a workplace themselves.

Before the training period a work placement agreement will be drawn up between the employer, the student and HAMK University of Applied Sciences. Also, at the beginning of the training period the student fills in a work placement plan.

You have to write b about every work placement period.

Once your work placement period is over, you need to prepare a work placement report and submit it together with a letter of reference/testimonial to your work placement coordinator within one month after the work placement period.

If the work placement agreement and plan have not been completed or in order to apply credits for already completed work, the student must fill in the CREDIT TRANSFER APPLICATION AND DECISION form. The form should be submitted with a letter of reference and the work placement report to the work placement coordinator. In these cases, the work placement requirement in terms of hours is double (two weeks work provides 1.5 credits) and maximum amount of credits is 15.

The Social Insurance Institution of Finland (in Finnish known as Kela) observes your studies and does not take credits gained from the work done before the studies into consideration.
