HAMK Bio is closely involved in developing smart production chain management and digital soil vitality monitoring. We have gained a broad and deep understanding of soil and know that soil vitality has a crucial role in production and in mitigating climate change. In our research, we investigate take the entire production chain to find solutions that sustain from soil to soil.

Our strong expertise in physics, chemistry and microbiology are combined with practical experiments in e.g. carbon sequestration and calculating carbon and nutrient balances in different contexts. Water management, recycled fertilizers, and cultivation techniques are some of our main research interests in the field of primary production. Our diverse research environments enable large-scale tests in farms, forests, and gardens.
