Sustainable Society and Technology
Sustainability, resilience, humanity and circularity are key subjects to be explored in the seminar as the keys to solve global wicked problems with a transdisciplinary applied research approach. The theme of the research seminar is Sustainable Society and Technology. The seminar will demonstrate how solutions are found to global problems in the multidisciplinary area of smart and sustainable living.
Beyond Alliance for Knowledge (BAK) is a strategic international alliance of Häme University of Applied Sciences in Finland, VIA University College in Denmark and Feevale University in Brazil. The universities cooperate in the areas of research and education. In their common international research, the universities carry out a joint international network on common research areas on smart and sustainable living and work as research teams, which are based on multiple competencies.
The seminar will be organised jointly with Beyond Alliance for Knowledge and OSIRIS “Supporting the Smart Specialization Approach in the Silver Economy to Increase Regional Innovation Capacity and Sustainable Growth” Project. OSIRIS is funded by Interreg Baltic Sea Region and coordinated by HAMK Häme University of Applied Sciences. The seminar programme of OSIRIS-project will be partly in line with the BAK2019 programme and focuse on wellbeing and sustainable silver economy. Häme University of Applied Sciences offers the possibility for the accepted research papers to be published by HAMK Unlimited Scientific which is a peer reviewed e-journal.
The seminar is targeted for researchers and experts in the field of development and research, including applied and practice-based fields, researchers with interest to service design with co-creation and everyone interested in solving global wicked problems. The seminar fee is 200 € (+VAT). The fee includes transportation from Hämeenlinna city center to the University center, lunches and coffees for both days, the networking evening on Monday 25th and the networking dinner on Tuesday 26th.
