Young engineers represented HAMK at Smart Cities in Smart Regions 2018
HAMK’s research in building energy management was presented at an international conference in Lahti.
Nhung Nguyen and Khoa Dang of the energy efficiency research group of HAMK Sheet Metal Centre participated in the conference Smart Cities in Smart Regions 2018 in Lahti in September.
Under the theme “Design, Technology and Digitalization”, they presented the results of their case study on a combination of energy simulation and data monitoring in building energy management.
Here you can find the conference proceedings, including the research of Nhung and Khoa.
The case study was related to three research projects of the energy efficiency research group: “Multi-skilled designer in energy technology in building’’, Energy efficiency with precise control” and ‘’Healthy Digital Buildings’’.
Although the initial designs of near zero-energy buildings (nZEBs) are planned to be thorough, such innovative pilots can easily encounter changes during construction and operation, just like any “normal” buildings. The use of an energy model throughout the lifecycle of a building requires continuous validation and refinement. Systematic and advanced real-time data monitoring and analysis are essential aids in the audition process and simulation techniques improvement.
