HAMK’s Community Café has started! The idea is to support students and their families by providing a relaxed space to connect over coffee and snacks. Every Thursday morning, take a break from your busy week. Join us with your kids for fun activities, drop in alone between classes for a coffee, or meet new friends from different cultures!
What is What Is It and Who Is It For?
The Community Café is a warm and welcoming space where families and friends of HAMK’s international students can meet and relax. Think of it as a casual gathering spot for you to grab a cup of coffee with some classmates or friends, or then have some time with the kids in the middle of the week.
Who is it for?
Everyone! Whether you’re new to Finland, part of the HAMK community, or simply curious to meet people from different cultures, the café is open to all at HAMK, HAMK student’s families and friends!
When and where does it takes place?
Every Thursday morning, from 9:00 to 12:00 (except during school holidays), at Hämeenlinna University Centre, S-building, Room S-101 (Nipsula).
What happens at the café?
Each week, participants enjoy coffee or tea while mingling and taking part in a variety of fun and relaxing activities. You can practice Finnish, hear about events happening around campus, and get everyday support from the organizers, whether it’s finding hobbies, learning the language, or navigating student life. Social and Health Care students host the sessions as part of their studies, planning activities that bring people together and spark conversation. Community counsellors are also on hand, so no question is too small. Everything is designed to help you feel more at home on campus and make the most of your time at HAMK.
