SmartBuilt – Smart and Sustainable Built Environment

Solutions for sustainable construction and the built environment

Together with businesses and other research partners, we create new solutions to promote sustainable construction and a carbon-neutral and resident-friendly built environment.

Our goal is an accessible and multi-sensory built environment, including not only buildings but also green areas that support biodiversity and mobility solutions. These will have a major impact on the well-being of users and the achievement of carbon neutrality goals. We will develop accessible transport systems and energy efficiency in buildings, and promote the replacement of fossil raw materials with renewable ones, for example in different construction solutions.

Our applied research supports successful business operations. We develop, pilot and test innovative solutions and know-how. At the core of our activities are the expertise of HAMK’s specialists in different fields, such as digital solutions and robotics, and the needs of industry and society.

Our strength lies in looking at the whole construction process, resulting in a truly sustainable life cycle that supports multi-sectoral business.

Come and do research with us. You’re here to make a change.
