About me
Z. Ma is a Principal Research Scientist at HAMK Tech Research Unit of Häme University of Applied Sciences in Finland. He is also a research group leader of Steel Construction research team.
Education: He completed BSc in Department of Civil Engineering at Suzhou University of Science and Technology in 1992, MSC in Structural Engineering in 1995 and PhD in Structural Mechanics in 1998 in Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), China. In 2000, he completed the D.Sc in Technology in Helsinki University of Technology (HUT), Finland. He also held an MBA from University of Wales in 2012.
Research: His research activities cover: i) Steel structures ii) Numerical analysis (FEA and CFD) and structural tests iii) Structural fire engineering iv) Reuse and refabrication of building components. He has published 50 peer-reviewed scientific papers and 20 scientific research reports. He is also the coordinator of two EU funded research projects (DreamFAB and PERFORM).
Industrial: He has 13 years industrial experiences as a senior expert in the product development and product technologies in the field of mechanical and electronic engineering, in the international companies in Finland.
