Halt in Direct Application for 10 Degree Programmes
This direct application period has seen an overwhelming response with a substantial number of applications for our English-taught programs.
While we are delighted that HAMK continues to be a popular study option, the high number of applications poses challenges with the processing of the applications. Consequently, we inform you that we are bringing the direct application to a halt for these 10 programs on December 22nd, 2023, at 3 pm Finnish time:
- Construction Engineering
- Electrical and Automation Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering and Production Technology
- Sustainable Urban Design
- International Business, part-time and full-time
- Information and Communication Technology, Circular Economy
- Information and Communication Technology, Robotics
- Climate Smart Agriculture
- Professional Horticulture
- Sustainable Forest Management
Applicants whose applications have been submitted on Studyinfo before the halt will still be considered in the direct application process and will be reviewed by our admissions team.
But I really want to apply to these programmes. What can I do?
If you wish to apply to these programmes, you can do so through the Finnish National Joint Application. The Finnish National Joint Application will open in January, and all English-taught programs, including all the programmes that were brought to a halt in Direct Application, will be part of it. You still have an opportunity to be admitted through this application period.
The application period for the Joint Application is from 3rd of January to 17th of January 2024. Applications for the Joint Application should be uploaded to Studyinfo. The admission method used in the Joint Application is the International UAS exam, except for Smart and Sustainable Design, which has its own online entrance examination.
Direct application might re-open for short time during March 2024 if it seems that there are study places left.
What about other programmes in HAMK’s offering?
- Computer Applications already closed its direct application period on November 29th, 2023, but it will be in available in joint application.
- Health Care, Nursing was originally and will still be only available through joint application.
- Smart and Sustainable Design is still open for applications in direct application and available in joint application as well.
- Management in Sustainable Business will be available in joint application and have its direct application period open from 1st of February until 31st of March 2024.
