Study modes in Electrical and Automation Engineering

13.11.2018 12:25

In Electrical and Automation Engineering students will study together in weekdays Monday to Friday between 8-16. Studying is equivalent to working at a job: the student is present and works together with others in a diverse way.

Daily learning situations could be:

  • Traditional classroom learning.
  • Laboratory work and exercises.
  • Learning by doing practical exercises, projects etc.
  • Learning at the workplace – projects from working life, an internship etc.
  • E-learning at home or anywhere.

Studying abroad

We recommend that you embrace as many of our international offerings as possible. In addition to exchange studies, which are probably the most common way of gaining international experience, we also wish to encourage you to consider the possibility of doing a double degree or conducting your work placement abroad in one of our partner universities or in a foreign company. Internationality is the key to success!

Company projects

Working with the companies is an important part of the automation engineering studies in HAMK.

There are several ways to run a company project. A project could be part of the module, when all the students are involved. Project could also be for smaller student groups or even for individual students. Thesis is a typical example of an individual company project.

Students get familiar with constant work and entrepreneurship that develop themselves and the professional field, get work at the end of their studies, and can take on international tasks in the field.

Student will know how to apply the knowledge that he/she has attained into practice, and how to develop him-/herself in the professional field.
