Digital design and fashion is fast growing field, full of new business opportunities and it supports sustainable development.

Digital design offers sustainable solutions to the huge negative environmental impacts of the textile industry and fast fashion consumption. It produces virtual 3D clothing prototypes. They are worn, for example, by people’s digital profiles and avatars in games, they can be used in the design and implementation process of physical clothing, in various marketplaces and in services such as virtual fitting.

The industry is young and growing strongly. It opens up opportunities to develop new digital products, services, experiences and international business based on new technologies such as 3D modeling, augmented and virtual reality, artificial intelligence and NFT enabling the purchase of unique pieces. Digital fashion is experiential, presentable, a way to express oneself and one’s own identity.

Digital platforms enable new experiences for the presentation, sales and marketing of digital fashion. Places of sale include, for example, games, an online store and virtual events. Digitalization renews and enhances the design and production processes of fashion. Digital fashion requires new and versatile know-how and experts, multidisciplinary cooperation and joint development. The field is expanding from traditional designers focusing on the manufacturing process to designers focusing solely on digital fashion.
