HAMK's IT Services
Information Management Services of Häme University of Applied Sciences produce and maintain IT and telecommunication services for HAMK and Häme Vocational Institute.
When you join as a student, you will receive a personal user ID, with which you can log in to HAMK computers and many different systems. We are in charge of the IT infrastructure and all of its services, including the functionality of equipment and systems, and we provide training in their use, as well as problem-solving advice.
Remember to follow our Yammer-group where we inform you about updates, error situations and other topics concerning HAMK’s computers, programs and learning systems.
The ServiceDesk IT service
The ServiceDesk ticketing system can be used to reach student services (including study-related administrative matters), library services, IT services, staff services, finance and administration, communication services, RDI services and general administrative services. The ticketing system serves as the contact point for all of the aforementioned services.
ServiceDesk IT is the service channel for all IT services and it is meant for both students and staff. ServiceDesk IT can help you with any issues that are related to IT services or devices as well as provide advice on how to use IT services. ServiceDesk IT staff can provide immediate assistance to customers or forward their tickets to the persons who are responsible for each individual IT service.
ServiceDesk IT can assist you if you have any questions related to common software tools and information systems. For more information on how to use professional-grade software tools, contact the teachers of the subject matter in question. If a student has any questions or issues that are related to their personal computer, it must always be related to the IT services or software that are used in the course of their studies at their educational institution. As a rule, students are responsible for maintaining their personal computers.
The ServiceDesk IT service can be contacted in the following ways:
- By calling the telephone answering service number +358 3 646 3000, which is available on workdays from 8 am to 4 pm.
- By submitting a ticket online (category: IT-palvelut / IT Services) at https://servicedesk.hamk.fi
- By sending the information in the ticket (include a descriptive subject line and detailed description) by email to it@hamk.fi
- By visiting the IT Service Desk in Visamäki (ground floor of building C), which is open on workdays between 10 am and 2 pm.
All received tickets are stored in the ServiceDesk system. Customers are informed of the progress of their ticket regularly by email (initiation, comments or questions sent by the person processing the ticket, completion). We recommend describing your issue in as much detail as possible (including the error notification that you may have received), and you should always answer any questions sent by the person processing the ticket as quickly as possible. This will help speed up the processing of your ticket.

If you have forgotten your password, you can order a new one through the following link. You will need a bank ID in order to get a new password. If you fail to login after changing password or you are unable to change it, please call to ServiceDesk.
EXAM service and electronic exam concept provides a flexible way of taking monitored exams. First, a teacher prepares the exam either for the whole study group or personally to someone. The exam time period is adjusted and during that period a student can take the exam whenever he/she wants. A student will log into the EXAM service and makes the suitable reservation. HAMK has several EXAM studios: in Hämeenlinna, Riihimäki, Valkeakoski and Forssa. The student can choose freely which one to use. The EXAM service can be found at exam.hamk.fi
The EXAM room video surveillance system includes live streaming, recording video and audio. Students can access the room only with their personal key card or pin code which is saved and logged into the room reports. The EXAM system works only with the HAMK credentials. After taking the exam the teacher will assess it and finally the student is informed by email about the result.
The EXAM computers have access restrictions to external services and they offer basic software to utilise in exams:
