Mobility and traffic are undergoing a major transformation, and one of the accelerators is the prevention of climate change, among other things, by reducing the adverse effects of traffic and the proliferation of digital technologies and intelligence in vehicles and structures supporting mobility.

Intelligent traffic refers to the enhancement of traffic and the resolution or prevention of its problems through technology. The rapid ongoing development of information and communication technology enables the development of intelligent traffic solutions and services to solve traffic problems. With the advent of new traffic services, new ecosystems that produce services are also developing, involving actors from the private and public sectors. This creates an opportunity for Kanta-Häme to develop new innovative services, which enables the growth of employment and well-being in Kanta-Häme.

The ÄlLi project focuses on the opportunities brought by intelligent traffic from the perspective of intelligent mobility and low-carbon development in the MORE area.

HAMK, utilizing its research network, investigates what kind of intelligent traffic services should be developed for the MORE area from the perspective of companies. At the same time, it considers what kind of infrastructure requirements should be taken into account with the development of intelligent traffic, what aspects are related to energy-efficient intelligent traffic transition, and what legislative issues should be taken into account in the intelligent traffic transition. The project carries out a study on solutions enabling a low-carbon business area, taking into account the further development of the MORE area.

Target groups

The target group of the project includes the companies in the MORE industrial area and the organizations responsible for the development of the MORE industrial area, Linnan Kehitys Oy, the city of Hämeenlinna, and the municipality of Janakkala.
