We develop maker-based learning solutions for early childhood education and primary education. Our goal is to strengthen sustainability, inclusion, and creative problem-solving.
We build learning environments and pedagogical models where learners explore, experiment, create, and learn by doing together. At the same time, we support schools and early childhood education providers in developing teaching that is inclusive, equitable, and easily adaptable to different learning environments.
We offer teachers and educators a modular training programme as well as micro-credientals that support the adoption of maker pedagogy, sustainable development, and multidisciplinary working methods in everyday teaching. All solutions developed in the project are designed to be inclusive, accessible, and flexible for use in different educational and learning environments.
As a result of the project, a shared pedagogical learning framework, concrete materials, and guidelines for teachers and schools will be created. These results aim to promote sustainable pedagogical development and strengthen learners’ active role in learning even after the project ends.
Target group
The primary target groups are:
- Children and young people (aged 3–15) in early childhood education, primary education, and early stages of upper secondary education
- Teachers, student teachers, and education professionals
- Schools and educational institutions, especially in multilingual, sparsely populated, or socioeconomically challenging environments
The project places special emphasis on equality, accessibility, and inclusion, including learners at risk of falling behind in basic skills development.
Operating area
The Tinkerverse project is implemented across multiple countries in cooperation with higher education institutions, education authorities, research organizations, and municipalities.
The project operates in:
- Spain, Finland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal, Greece, Romania, and North Macedonia
Activities include:
- pilot environments in schools, early childhood education, and maker spaces
- collaboration networks at both local and European levels
The project will build a European network of maker actors to support knowledge sharing and the wider use of results even after the project ends.
