Wellbeing International Week 2026
February 16th – 20th, 2026
Hämeenlinna, Finland

Wired for Connection
In a world increasingly shaped by digital transformation, our connections – human, empathetic, and purposeful – must remain at the heart of health care, social services, and education.
The School of Health and Social Services at Häme University of Applied Sciences (HAMK) in Hämeenlinna, Finland opens the call for papers for the Wellbeing International Week. We invite staff from our partner universities to deliver workshops and lectures on this topical theme:
“Wired for Connection”
– Ensuring human-centredness in the digitalizing world of health care, social services and education
What’s in it for me?
As a visiting lecturer, you will have the opportunity to:
- Share your expertise with students and colleagues from around the world.
- Learn about new perspectives on how to preserve human-centredness in the digitalizing world of health care, social services and education.
- Expand your professional network by meeting old friends and making new ones.
- Experience the Finnish winter and engage in fun outdoor activities.
What’s expected of me?
You are expected to deliver 2 workshops and 1 lecture* during the week. This complies with the Erasmus+ requirement for the number of teaching hours. Co-teaching with your colleague is possible.
Let us clarify what we mean by a workshop and a lecture:
A workshop (2,5 hrs, including a 15 min. break) includes an introduction to the topic, followed by interactive, hands-on activities which engage the students in learning by doing. Participant limit: maximum of 30 students.
A lecture (1 hour 10 min.) is primarily a presentation but can also include interactive elements. Some lectures take place in our auditorium, allowing for a larger audience. However, the auditorium setting does not support physical activities and movement like a regular classroom.
The topics of your 2 workshops can vary or be the same, but, as a rule, each session should be treated as an independent event – one workshop should not be considered a continuation of another. That said, if you prefer, we can also arrange a full-day workshop, with 2 consecutive sessions for the same group of students.
