HAMK’s Language Café is a welcoming space where Finnish learners and fluent Finnish speakers come together to chat, connect, and enjoy coffee. You can be a beginner or already comfortable with everyday phrases, this event offers a great opportunity to build confidence and experience authentic Finnish conversations.

What is the Language Café?

The Language Café is not a formal language class. It’s a casual meeting point for people of all ages and language levels to speak Finnish. We provide light vocabulary support and conversation materials, but the main focus is on meeting new people, sharing cultural experiences, and enjoying relaxed conversation.

The sessions are held in spacious venues, allowing us to host conversation groups for basic, intermediate, and advanced Finnish speakers. Everyone can find a group that suits their comfort level.

Coffee, tea, and cookies are served during the session.

Who can join?

• This event is open to all people in the region, you don’t need to be a student to join
• Finnish learners at any level
• Local Finnish speakers interested in meeting new people
• Anyone living in the region who wants to practice Finnish in a friendly setting

Everyone is welcome. Come as you are, have a chat, sip some coffee, and enjoy.
