Field blocks
Kyttylännyppylä
There are two traditional forest pastures in Mustiala: 40 Kyttälännyppylä (1.42ha) and 41 Vartiovuori (1.68ha). The preservation of these plots is the most important factor. No cultivation measures are carried out on them.
Buffer zones
Protection zones are approximately 15 meters wide, managed areas covered with perennial vegetation, intended for the protection of groundwater/drainage areas. Fertilizers and pesticides are not allowed to be used in protection zones. Harvest must be collected at least once a year or the area can be used for grazing. The harvest can be used as feed.
Some of Mustiala’s fields border on water bodies. Buffer zones have been established along the shores of Mustiala Pond and Kaukjärvi Lake, as well as along the banks of Riuskanoja Stream.
