We are developing cooperation between polytechnics to strengthen the training offer for continuous learning in the natural resources sector.

Climate change, strengthening security of supply and the weakening of the attractiveness of the natural resources sector are challenging current training models. The need for flexible, multidisciplinary and working life-oriented continuous learning solutions is acute.

We are responding to the shortage of experts, the fragmentation of education and the low attractiveness of the sector by developing new forms of cooperation, identifying skills needs and planning training offers based on the results of RDI projects. We are producing operating models that can be utilized nationwide and in the long term.

The result will be new cooperation models and implementation methods for determining training needs for continuous learning and planning training in cooperation with the natural resources sector network.

Target group

The target group of the project is particularly teaching and RDI personnel in the natural resources sector. In addition, advisors, experts, teachers and organizations in the sector will participate in the activities.

Operating area

Whole Finland

Work Packages

WP1 creates a systematic approach to collecting training needs in the sector by involving vocational education institutions, industry networks, companies and stakeholders. Electronic surveys and discussion groups on the AgriHub network platform are used for the collection.

WP2 develops new operating models and tools for the network’s joint development of continuous learning training offerings through training days, workshops and electronic environments. At the same time, new training and learning methods are also introduced.

WP3 focuses on strengthening the visibility of continuous learning products. In addition, new operating models are learned that emphasize the importance of the natural resource sector through sustainability, security of supply and food security.

WP4 focuses on project management and communication.
