The RUN-EU Student Council is recruiting new members

HAMK is now looking for 15 students from various disciplines and backgrounds to join HAMK’s RUN European University Student Council for the term 2023-2024 (May-May).

Who are we?

RUN-EU is an alliance of 7 European like-minded higher education institutions creating a regional development-oriented European University that embodies the values of sustainability, multiculturalism, and inclusiveness in all its work. The focus is on providing our students and regional stakeholders with the necessary skills to successfully meet the challenges of the future and have a positive impact on society. Students play an important role in the development of RUN-EU activities and the main channel for student engagement is RUN’s own Student Council. Each RUN higher education institution has its own Student Council that strategically advises the work of RUN-EU, with an emphasis on student engagement activities, inclusion, and multiculturalism, as well as on the implementation and format of the innovative mobility programmes.

What do we offer?

As a representative of the Student Council, you will get a unique opportunity to innovate and influence the future of RUN-EU, build networks around Europe, work in a multicultural & multidisciplinary group and gain valuable international experience. The Student Council also participates in the annual Student Week event where they meet other RUN European University student representatives.

Who are you?

We are looking for highly motivated and target driven students with strong time management and organizational skills. You can maintain and establish an international network and are able and willing to communicate in English. You are creative, internationally minded, proactive and able to critically/ constructively reflect and advise on RUN-EU activities. Most importantly, you work great in a team and are not afraid of bring out your ideas and views.

How to apply?

As a Student Council member, you will gain credits and receive a certificate of participation. Please send your motivation letter by 7 April to jenna.pohjonen@hamk.fi. Please explain in your letter concisely who you are, why you want to join and what you would bring to the team.  

We will inform you about the decision by 14 April. The Student Council will have its first meeting on 27 April at 15:00. Please note the commitment is for a one-term and it is required to be enrolled as HAMK’s degree student for the whole term (if you graduate before May 2024, you are not eligible.)
