Social and health care professionals are the cornerstone of society’s well-being

The social and health care field focuses on promoting people’s well-being, maintaining health, and supporting inclusion. Studies in this field provide strong skills for working with people, combining professional expertise, communication skills, and ethical practice.

Nursing degree will enable you to become a valued and diverse health care professional, who can work in Finland or abroad as a nurse. You will gain professional skills and knowledge to help people with their health and develop community’s wellbeing. Nursing includes caring, guiding, supporting and rehabilitating the client.

In Early Childhood Education, you learn to promote the well-being of children and families using a socio-pedagogical approach. After graduation, you will have a qualification to work as a social pedagogue in early childhood education and care in Finland. In addition, you will be qualified to work in other fields of social services as a Bachelor of Social Services.

The social and health care field offers diverse career opportunities in hospitals, health centres, early childhood education, residential facilities, non-profit organisations, and the private sector. You will also have good opportunities for specialization and further studies.

Our English-taught social and health care degree programmes include 25 ECTS of Finnish language courses to support your language development. Studies will start in English, with no Finnish language proficiency requirement at the time of admission. As your Finnish skills improve, the use of Finnish language will gradually increase in your studies. This will prepare you to work effectively in different client situations in Finnish working life.
