Wellbeing International Week 2027
February 22nd – 26th, 2027
Hämeenlinna, Finland

The Human Factor
Practical approaches to encountering diverse clients with empathy, presence, and cultural sensitivity in today’s fast-changing society.
In an increasingly diverse, interconnected, and rapidly changing world, professionals in health care, social services, and education face growing challenges in building meaningful relationships with people from different cultural, linguistic, social, and personal backgrounds. While digitalisation, efficiency demands, and new technologies continue to transform professional practice, the ability to genuinely encounter another human being remains at the heart of effective support, learning, and care.
The School of Health and Social Services at Häme University of Applied Sciences (HAMK) in Hämeenlinna, Finland, invites staff from our partner universities to deliver workshops and lectures on this topical theme:
“The Human Factor“
Practical approaches to encountering diverse clients with empathy, presence, and cultural sensitivity in today’s fast-changing society.
What’s in it for me?
As a visiting lecturer, you will have the opportunity to:
- Share your expertise on the topic with students and colleagues from around the world.
- Explore the human dimensions of professional work through interdisciplinary and intercultural collaboration.
- Expand your professional network by meeting old friends and making new ones.
- Experience the Finnish winter and engage in fun outdoor activities.
What’s expected of me?
You are expected to deliver two workshops and one lecture during the week. We would also like you to engage in facilitating student teamwork throughout the week and support students in their collaborative learning process.
