About me

I work at HAMK Edu Research Unit. I study vocational education and training. My current research interests include vocational teachers’ and workplace supervisors’ competence and professional identity; teaching and learning at vocational school and working life as well as competence demands of the working life. I utilise both quantitative (R, Mplus, SPSS) and qualitative research methods.

I have a PhD in Educational Sciences (University of Helsinki, 2023). I am also a qualified class teacher (University of Turku, 2011). Previously, I have worked as a Doctoral Researcher, Project Planner (Pedaknow project about Finnish technical-trade educators’ competence) as well as a University Lecturer in University Pedagogy at the Centre for University Teaching and Learning (HYPE) at the University of Helsinki. I have also worked as a class teacher in the Municipality of Kirkkonummi.

In my doctoral dissertation, I studied upper-secondary initial technical vocational education and training students’ domain-general competencies.
