Change to the supervision fees for traineeships

Häme University of Applied Sciences will follow the policy of the majority of Finnish universities of applied sciences, according to which the student teachers’ internships will not be paid to the supervising institutions.

The HAMK School of Professional Teacher Education (AOKK) has paid a supervision allowance of €295 to institutions or supervisors supervising traineeships to teachers for traineeships for professional teacher trainees or special education teacher trainees. In the case of training for professional guidance counsellor trainers, no traineeship allowance has been paid. We will be abolishing supervision allowances for supervising teachers from the 2025-2026 academic year. The new practice is in line with the policy of other universities of applied sciences providing teacher training, which does not pay any remuneration for supervision.

Despite the change, the AOKK wishes to contribute to the development of the skills of the teacher trainers working in the cooperating institutions. We will provide opportunities for the teachers responsible for supervision to strengthen their skills and networks. In the spring term 2026, we will organise two topical networking seminars tailored only for supervising teachers, addressing topics of pedagogical competence and presenting the results of the latest projects related to learning and teaching. In addition, supervising teachers will have the opportunity to participate in TietoTiistai webinars held by experts from the HAMK School of Professional Teacher Education during the academic year. We will inform the selected tutors directly about these different opportunities at a later stage.
