Area: 9.51 ha
Soil type: Rich fine sand (rmKHt), rich fine-sandy moraine (rmHtMr)

The field is fairly level and well-defined in shape. It is partly located in a groundwater area, which places some restrictions on fertiliser application.

The experiment compares mixed crops of oilseeds and legumes to monoculture.

Sowing densities kpl/m2
Monoculture crops: broad bean ’Louhi’ 70, pea ’Ingrid’ 120, rape ’Synthia’ 250, rape seed ’Laima’ 150,

Monoculture pea: lannoittamaton
mixed crops: (40 kg N/ha)
Rape and rapeseed: (80 kg N/ha)

The fleas ate the oilseed sprouts on a early phase and they had to be planted again.
Some of the first planting survived and they are blooming in July. The other planting is weak and has lots of weeds.

2) Mixrd crop grid (LuoVaMix)
The experiment studies the growth of different plants as mixed crops.

18.7.2023 The most successfull plants in the grid are pea and oat.
8.9.2023 The most successfull plant in the grid is triticale.

3) Landrace grains (MoPe)
The experiment studies the agronomic traits of the varieties and also does seed propagation.

4) Oilseed hemp experiment
The experiment studies the effect of sowing time and density.
Strip 1 Sowing 22.5. Finola 22 kg/ha, fetilization, Fertilex (6-1-2) 500 kg/ha
Strip 2 Sowing 22.5. Finola 27,4 kg/ha, fetilization, Fertilex (6-1-2) 500 kg/ha
Strip 3 Sowing 30.5. Finola 30 kg/ha, fetilization, Fertilex (6-1-2) 500 kg/ha

According to the experiment the largest density gave the best yield.

Oilseed hemp is lush in july and started to produce seeds.

5) Pea triticale -wholegrainsilagetrial (LuoVaMix)
The experiment studies the effect of different mixing ratios to yield, feed values and agronomical traits.
Strip 1 pea Arvika 50kg/ha and triticale Somtri 150 kg/ha,
Strip 2 pea Arvika 75kg/ha and triticale Somtri 125 kg/ha,

You can se more information of the experiment from the info card.

In july triticale has already some heads and pea is blooming.
At the end of august both pea and triticale are staring to be ready to harvest.
