HAMK participates in Campfire Summit

Häme University of Applied Sciences is participating in the Johtajatulet (Campfire Summit) event organized by the Finnish Scouts at the end of August in Evo.

Campfire Summit is an event focused on learning and understanding new things about leadership. It is open to anyone over 18 who is interested in leadership and developing their leadership skills, whether they are a scout or not.

Häme University of Applied Sciences’ principal research scientists Päivi Laaksonen and Anne-Mari Järvenpää, as well as lecturer Hanna Pulkka, will bring perspectives from their own work and research with companies and young people to the discussion on Saturday, August 30th. The conversation will touch on topics such as how a company’s or individual’s perception of their own skills can affect their ability to take action and learn new things.

During the day, visitors can also stop by HAMK’s event tent to learn more about the applied research at HAMK.

HAMK and the Finnish Scouts are long-term partners. HAMK students can accumulate study credits through scouting skills. Studies can include skills acquired in scouting after the age of 18.

Last time in 2023 there were 3300 participants in the Campfire Summit. The summit will be held on the last weekend of August in Evo.
