RUN-EU is expanding: two new partners from Czech Republic and Romania

RUN European University (RUN-EU) is expanding. Two new universities have joined our alliance: the University of Liberec (TUL) in the Czech Republic and the “Dunărea de Jos” University of Galați (UGAL) in Romania. With their arrival, RUN-EU now brings together ten universities from across Europe.

This development strengthens RUN-EU’s and HAMK’s links in Central and Eastern Europe and helps us grow our cooperation in teaching, research, and regional engagement. In addition to Romania and the Czech Republic, the higher education institutions belonging to the RUN European University include partners from Spain, Portugal, Finland, Ireland, Austria, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

“New partnerships offer HAMK many new cooperation opportunities both in research and education. The collaboration has started smoothly with the planning of educational offer, and negotiations, for example, to develop a new joint degree programme themed on wearable intelligence,” says HAMK’s RUN-EU project manager Saara Lindén.

Technical University of Liberec (TUL) is noted for its strong work in engineering, materials science, and textile technologies. With close ties to local industry and a hands-on approach to innovation, TUL will be a valuable new partner in the alliance. Read more about TUL on their website.

“Dunărea de Jos” University of Galați (UGAL) brings knowledge from the Lower Danube region and is recognised for its strengths in engineering, maritime studies, and multidisciplinary research. Its strong links with local communities fit well with RUN-EU’s goals and values. Read more about UGAL on their website.
