Payments and study right period

The fee for open studies at HAMK is €15 per credit. The study fee is paid upon registration.
A person studying open studies at HAMK (with a per-credit fee) will receive the right to study for the duration of the specific course. In non-stop studies, the study period is 3 months. Coursework submitted after the study period has ended will not be accepted.

Cancellation policy

Registration can be cancelled at least 14 days before the start of studies, unless otherwise stated in the specific cancellation terms. To cancel, please send an email to the address specified in the cancellation terms for that particular course.

The tuition fee will not be refunded if the start of the studies is less than 14 days away (e.g. non-stop studies), you do not attend the studies, or you interrupt the studies you have started. Please read the detailed cancellation terms in the course information.

Payment methods

Payment is made in the online store via Paytrail.

In HAMK Open University of Applied Sciences online store, the following payment methods are available:

  • Online banking payment buttons of all Finnish banks: OP, Nordea, Danske Bank, S-Pankki, POP Pankki, Oma Säästöpankki, Aktia, Handelsbanken, Säästöpankki and Ålandsbanken
  • Card payments: Visa, Mastercard and American Express
  • Mobile payment methods: Siirto and MobilePay
  • Invoice and instalment payment methods: OP Invoice, OP Account Credit and Walley

Payment Service Provider

Paytrail Oyj is a collecting payment service provider and an authorized Payment Institution working in cooperation with Finnish banks and credit institutions. Paytrail Oyj will be shown as the recipient on your bank or credit card statement. Paytrail Oyj will forward the payment to the merchant. For complaints, please contact the website the payment was made to.

Information about paying

Study voucher

If you are eligible for a study voucher, you can use it as a payment method in the Open University of Applied Sciences online store starting on 5 August 2026. To enable the study voucher as a payment method, it must be activated in the Opin.fi service. Activation will be possible from 5 August 2026 onwards.
