Library Services during Summer 2026
HAMK library customer service is on break from Thursday June 18 to Sunday August 9. You can send us email hamk.kirjasto@hamk.fi during summer, but answers may be delayed due to summer holidays. Reserved books and inter-library loans are not transported during the break. You can find a list of all summer service exceptions at the end of this article.
All libraries are on self-service for HAMK students and staff with HAMK key card. Read more about library self-service.
On Monday, August 10, customer service opens in Hämeenlinna university centre library at noon and by phone at 9 am. We will inform you about all campus library service hours in August.
Renew your loans for the summer in HAMK Finna
When you renew your loans, the due date will be August 27. Renew your loans in Tuudo app or HAMK Finna. Log in to HAMK Finna with HAMK ID or library card number and PIN-code to see and renew your loans. You cannot renew your loan if
- someone else has reserved the book,
- you have over 10 € of fines or
- the book has been marked lost for being late.
Long summer loans do not apply to e-materials. You will not get library fines for late books during the library’s summer break.
Customer service before summer break
Before June 18, customer service is available in Hämeenlinna university centre, by phone +358 3 646 4700 and by email Mon-Thu from 9 am to 3 pm and Fri from 10 am to 3 pm. Check possible exceptions on HAMK Finna.
Starting on June 1st, campus libraries of Evo, Forssa, Lepaa, Mustiala, Riihimäki and Valkeakoski are on self-service.
Thesis archiving and publishing
Thesis archiving and publishing is on summer break from June 25 to August 1. Theses submitted during the break will be published and archived in August. You can send us an email to opinnaytetyo.arkisto@hamk.fi if needed. Emails sent during the summer break will be answered in August.
Help in information searching
You can get personal assistance for information searching until June 17. If you have to cancel your appointment, please send us an email to kirjasto.opetus@hamk.fi. Personal information searching guidance will resume in August. You can see available times up to three weeks in advance.
Remember our information searching online course in Learn for independent studying too. The course and its exercises are not assessed, and no credits are awarded. The course starts from information searching basics and you will learn where to find trustworthy information for your field.
How to return loans with a HAMK key card
If you have a HAMK key card, you can return your loans with the self-check machine in the nearest campus library. You can leave inter-library loans in return box.
Return boxes are next to campus library doors. If you return your loans there, they will stay in your loan information until the library staff visits that campus in August. More information about campus libraries on our website.
How to return loans without a HAMK key card
The library’s outdoor return box is in Hämeenlinna University Centre: building D, in Visakaarre street, next to the main entrance. Please do not leave books outside the box if it’s full. Unfortunately, other campuses do not have outdoor book return boxes.
You can mail the books to library. Please ask for mailing instructions by email: hamk.kirjasto@hamk.fi.

- You can send us acquisition requests throughout the summer, but receiving new books for use may take until the autumn. E-books can be delivered during June.
- Thesis archiving and publishing are on a break from June 25 to August 1st.
- Research permit services are on summer break from June 19 to August 2.
