Career Planning Course – Enroll Now!

Career Planning is a course offered by HAMK Career Services. The course supports students in planning their careers, identifying their next steps and developing a deeper understanding of their professional strengths, interests and goals.

During the course, students explore their career plans through practical and reflective activities. These include creating a personal “career cake recipe”, presenting their skills in a video, completing a self-assessment and interviewing an alumnus working in a field related to their studies. Students may also book an individual career guidance session to discuss their plans in more detail. The course is offered from October to December 2026. It is available in English and Finnish.

Study places

Each implementation offers a maximum of 30 study places: 15 for the English-language implementation and 15 for the Finnish-language implementation by default. If places remain available in one language group, they are automatically allocated to the other group.

Course structure

The course begins with an optional 30-minute opening session and ends with an optional 30-minute closing session. Students complete the course assignments independently.

Languages and learning platforms

Students enroll in the same course in Parkki and choose whether to complete it in English or Finnish in Moodle. All instructions, information sessions and learning materials are bilingual.

Assessment criteria

Pass – Fail.

Students are assessed based on the completion of the course assignments, the quality of their reflections, and their ability to identify and communicate their skills, interests, and career goals. Assessment emphasizes active participation, thoughtful self-reflection, and the practical application of career planning tools.
