Objective
Students understand the uniqueness of electronic gaming industry and can define selling points based on that. Students can define event as a concept and apply esports related specialties into it. They can identify networks and event cluster elements. Students understand what developing an esports event requires and are able to plan an event. Students can plan a marketing campaign in the esports industry.

Schedule
Marketing and Events study material is available on Moodle during 2nd, 3rd and 4th period. Guidance for this course is available in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th period. This means that students are able to complete the course individually according to their own schedule, but if they require guidance or help regarding the assignments or materials it will be available on scheduled dates.
Teaching methods
Marketing and Events (5 ECTS) course is organized fully online and students are able to complete it individually within their own schedule from 2nd period (26.10.2026) onward. Guidance meetings for Marketing and Events course is offered during both periods.
Esports Business Management module consists of three courses:
1) Sports Management
2) Marketing and Events
3) Esports Projects
In Marketing and Events teaching and working language is English. Learning environments in this course are Moodle and Zoom. Studies are individual studies.

Students will learn about working life examples during their studies and they will use working life examples in their assignments as well.

Nonstop online implementation. You can start your studies within about a week of registering. The study period is 3 months.

When registering for studies, it must be noted that there may be prerequisites for the studies. Open studies for Master’s degrees often require a previously completed Bachelor’s degree. The student must consider whether their own background knowledge and skills correspond to the prerequisites required for completing the course.
Studying in an open university of applied sciences requires having your own computer. Those starting their studies must acquire their own laptop if they do not already have one. For more information, see the rules and instructions of HAMK’s IT services page. Studies often take place online and can be independent of time and classroom space.
A student studying open studies at HAMK (with a credit-based fee) is granted the right to complete the studies for the duration of the specific study. Any completed credits after the end of the study right will not be accepted.
