Objective
Students understand the operational behaviors that are embedded in the organizations relating to esports. Students understand the business principles that drive the organizations and base their development projects on those principles. Students use theory when creating their solutions in the project cases presented to them. Student is an active member in their study group and in contact with real customers. Student actively seeks new solutions based on the theories presented in the course.

The course is a non-stop. Students are responsible for their own time allocation and progress. 1 ECT = approximately 27 hours of reported work.
Teaching methods
Esports projects helps you gain credits from the work you've done in e-sports related topics whether it is inside HAMK Gaming operations or development work in your own time. The course is from 1 ECT up to 15 ECT'S depending on how much time and effort you've used in the project work. With e-sports project studies you can create your own project portfolio: the credits can come from various projects. The learning is measured and mapped with a reflective learning report, where the applied work and theory are mixed together. All the projects need to be accepted either by Nico Ilkanheimo or Jukka Raitanen.
Teaching language is English. As a student, you are open to search for a project that would best suit your needs or join a project proposed by HAMK. The project proposals vary. Some project cases might be presented by Finnish organizations and include Finnish material, which is acceptable. Learning environments in this course are Microsoft Teams (for guidance) and Learn.
The course is fully online and the mode of the course is non-stop.
The course is open for all of HAMK's students, there are no pre-requisites

When registering for studies, it must be noted that there may be prerequisites for the studies. Open studies for Master’s degrees often require a previously completed Bachelor’s degree. The student must consider whether their own background knowledge and skills correspond to the prerequisites required for completing the course.
Studying in an open university of applied sciences requires having your own computer. Those starting their studies must acquire their own laptop if they do not already have one. For more information, see the rules and instructions of HAMK’s IT services page. Studies often take place online and can be independent of time and classroom space.
A student studying open studies at HAMK (with a credit-based fee) is granted the right to complete the studies for the duration of the specific study. Any completed credits after the end of the study right will not be accepted.
