Mobile access credential for new students in Hämeenlinna and Riihimäki

New students who started their studies in autumn 2026 can activate a mobile access credential at Hämeenlinna University Centre and Riihimäki Campus. A mobile access credential allows you to unlock doors with your own smartphone without a separate physical key card. The credential works in facilities to which you have access rights as a student.

At the moment, the mobile access credential can be used at the external doors of the main entrance (N Building) at Hämeenlinna University Centre and at the main entrance of Riihimäki Campus. Access will later be expanded to additional doors.

The mobile access credential is available only to new students who started their studies in autumn 2026 at Hämeenlinna University Centre or Riihimäki Campus and who do not already have another access credential. Other students are not eligible for a mobile access credential. Students continuing their studies, students at other campuses, and HAMK staff will continue using their existing access credentials.

A mobile access credential is only required if you need to access campus facilities outside normal opening hours, when external doors are locked. Otherwise, there is no need to obtain a credential.

New students who started their studies in autumn 2026 can order a mobile access credential through the Helpdesk service portal by searching for mobile access credential. The first mobile access credential is free of charge; additional credentials are subject to a fee. A new credential is required, for example, if your phone or phone number changes. At the moment, the mobile access credential works only with Finnish mobile phone subscriptions.
