Direct Application to Bachelor Programmes
Direct application to bachelor’s degree programmes
Schedule:
- Application begins: December 1 2025
- Application ends: April 30 2026
- Student selection: during the application period, latest on June 18 2026
- Confirming the study place: July 9 2026 3:00 PM (Finnish time)
- Studies start: August 2026

Eligibility
Upper secondary school certificate + proof of English language skills.
Admission criteria
We will select students for each program during the application period. If a program reaches its maximum capacity, we will stop accepting applications for that program. Therefore, it is important to submit your application as early as possible at Studyinfo.fi.
In this application, we will select most of the students based on their upper secondary school performance or SAT-scores. For more detailed criteria, you can find information on the degree programmes own page:
The student selection results will be published during the application period, at the latest by 18 June 2026. You will be sent an e-mail if you are offered a study place. You then have time until 9 July 2026 3:00 pm Finnish time to confirm the study place.
Please notice that once you confirm the study place you cannot anymore accept any other study places leading to a higher education degree in Finland if the studies begin in the same academic term.
Direct application to Smart and sustainable design -programme
In this direct application you can apply to the Bachelor’s Programme in Smart and Sustainable Design.
Schedule:
- Application begins: October 1 2025 8.00 AM Finnish time
- Application ends: May 15 2026 3.00 Finnish time
- Entrance exam: organized online 4 times during the application period
- Student selection: during the application period, latest on June 18 2026
- Confirming the study place: July 9 2026 3.00 PM Finnish time
- Studies start: August 2026

Upper secondary school certificate + proof of English language skills.
Admission criteria
We will select students during the application period. Therefore, it is important to submit your application as early as possible.
Students are selected on the basis of an online entrance examination. The entrance examination consists of motivational and design assignments.
You will be informed about the entrance examination with an e-mail that contains the information about how to enroll to the exam platform. Please keep an eye on your e-mail (all folders).
Entrance examinations
The entrance examinations are organised four times during the application period:
- 9 – 10 December, for applicants that have applied by 1 October – 30 November 2025
- 10 – 11 February, for applicants that have applied by 1 December 2025 – 31 January 2026
- 7 – 8 April, for applicants that have applied by 1 February – 31 March 2026
- 19 – 20 May, for applicants that have applied by 1 April – 15 May 2026
Admission services will check the applicants eligibility only after passing the entrance examination.

- Application begins: February 1 2026 8.00 AM Finnish time
- Application ends: March 31 2026 3.00 PM Finnish time
- Preliminary assignment: upload to the application within 7 days after submitting the application
- Student selection: latest on June 18 2026
- Confirming the study place: July 9 2026 3.00 PM Finnish time
- Studies start: August 2026

Eligibility
You are eligible for Master’s Degree studies when you have completed relevant qualification and obtained two years of work experience from the relevant field. In addition all applicants must provide proof of their English language skills.
Admissions criteria
Student selection is based on preliminary assignment. In Wearable Intelligence degree programme there is also an online interview for those who pass the preliminary assignment.

Studying at HAMK is a transformative experience, offering diverse projects and activities that enhance my professional qualifications. Participating in projects like the Service Design course, which I didn’t even know what is and which initially seemed unrelated to my Construction Engineering degree, has surprisingly honed my skills in project work, design thinking, and client orientation.
The most interesting yet challenging part of my studies has been group projects – combining minds with others to create something new is exciting, but navigating different team dynamics each time is a valuable learning curve. HAMK has not only strengthened my technical skills as a structural engineer but also equipped me with crucial soft skills, preparing me to tackle future career challenges with confidence.

Sustainable business practices were at the core of my Management in Sustainable Business studies, and viewing things from ecological, social, and economic pillars. I learned skills that are needed to drive a change in the corporate level.
Studying mostly online helped me to organize my personal life and work balance but intensive weeks on site helped me to group better with other students and made my studies more meaningful.
