Nico Ilkanheimo

I work at HAMK as a specialist in the development of activities related to gaming culture and gamification. I build and develop Gaming Academy activities where students can participate in planning, implementing, and developing projects and community activities as part of their studies and learning experience.

My work includes developing Gaming Lab environments, cross-campus digital communities, events, study modules, and collaboration opportunities related to gaming and gamification. I also map and connect existing expertise and activities within HAMK to support the purposeful use of gamification in education, research, and development.

I hold a Master’s degree in Sport Sciences, and my background combines coaching, educational development, well-being, performance, and gaming culture.
