ICT-project
The ICT project in Computer Science is one of our longest running and largest student projects.
In an ICT project, students in Computer Applications degree programme respond to an assignment from a company.
The topics are agreed together with the company, the students and HAMK. For example, the project can be POC (Proof of Concept) or some kind of mini research about:
- Web accessibility assessment
- Mobile app
- Website
- Design and evaluation of a User Interface (UI/UX)
- AI bot
- AI for specific company use case
- Testing and evaluating a new technology solution
- Business process automation
- Testing and reporting
Method and timetable
During the project, HAMK students work full-time to achieve results for the company together with the company. The aim is for the students to be able to apply and develop what they have learned independently and in practice in their own field.
The ICT Project is implemented using the Scrum method. It is an agile project management method that emphasises collaboration, continuous improvement and rapid response to change. HAMK will monitor the progress of the project.
Project will last about eight weeks and for 2026–2027 academic year it is implemented during 26.10.2026-18.12.2026.
The participants are third-year Computer Applications students. They work in teams of 3-4 students. The working language is English.
