Researchers’ Night

At the Researchers’ Night, you can learn about our research in fields such as energy, food innovation, and the circular economy.

HAMK’s event point at Goodman Shopping Centre (Kaivokatu 7, Hämeenlinna) from 17 to 20

At the event you can discover HAMK’s applied research by experimenting and wondering for yourself. We offer interesting things to see and experience for all ages.

At HAMK’s Researchers’ Night this year:

Sustainable energy for a smarter future

How could we use energy more wisely while saving money and protecting the environment? Come and discover sustainable energy solutions. Try the Energy Observatory service, which shows how different energy investments could affect your own property. You can also explore a map of the Kanta-Häme region to see where unused waste heat is generated and learn how it could be put to better use.

What will we eat in the future?

Did you know that familiar ingredients such as vanilla, cocoa, and almonds may become increasingly scarce in the future? Come and learn about endangered food ingredients and discover the new, more sustainable alternatives researchers are developing to replace them.

Circular economy: more than just recycling

A circular economy is about much more than recycling packaging. Come and find out how everyday items that we currently throw away could be transformed into valuable new materials in the future.

Algae Shots for the Fastest Visitors!

Did you know that there are tens of thousands of different algae species, and that algae can be used in products such as food, cosmetics, and animal feed? Come and taste an algae shot, discover what it tastes like, and learn more about the exciting algae-related research being carried out at HAMK.

Welcome to meet us at Goodman!

The Researchers’ Night is a diverse and hands-on science event held annually across Europe. Read more about the event on the website.
