HAMK’s Christmas Donation to low-income families supporting Hope ry

This year, HAMK has directed its traditional Christmas card funds as a donation to Hope ry. The donation amount was €2,000, which will be allocated specifically to charitable work in the Hämeenlinna region. The recipient was selected from suggestions made by HAMK staff.

Hope was founded in 2009 to provide children with more equal opportunities in everyday life. It is an independent organization operating through 20 local branches across Finland.

We asked our staff for suggestions on who should receive the donation. The choice of Hope ry as the recipient was warranted in the proposals as follows:

“Hope ry does significant work with low-income families and children in foster care. The donation goes directly to improving the everyday well-being of children and young people, making the aid both effective and immediately impactful. HAMK is active in the Kanta-Häme region, and Hope ry has local operations. Therefore, the donation directly benefits the communities and families HAMK aims to positively influence.”

“Hope ry’s activities are strongly based on volunteer work and transparency, ensuring that the donation is used as efficiently as possible and reaches those who truly need help. Directing the donation to Hope ry would excellently support HAMK’s values of responsibility, community, and promoting well-being.”

We have aimed to vary the recipient of HAMK’s Christmas donation each year. Previous recipients include Naisten Pankki (2024), Erilaisten oppijoiden liitto (2023), Mieli ry (2022), Baltic Sea Action Group (2021), and Pelastakaa lapset (2020).
