Basic field information
Area: 4.41 hectares
Soil type: rich fine-sandy moraine (rmHtMr), medium fine sand (mKHt)
The field is diverse in both its edges and surface. The soil types are sand and sandy till. At the bottom of the field is a clay-rich protective zone (0.57 ha) bordering a beach ridge. On the western edge of the field is a 1 ha test area, with 0.5 ha of the area featuring 10-meter-wide biochar strips. The field is intended for long-term research on nutrient retention capacity. Excavation of the perimeter ditch on the side of Runkomäki, autumn 2020.
