Block basic information
Area: 4.42 hectares
Soil type: richly humus sandy moraine (rmHtMr), loamy coarse sand (mKHt)
The block is diverse in both its edges and surface. The soil types are sand and sandy till. At the bottom of the block is a clay-rich protective zone (0.57 ha) bordering a beach ridge. On the western edge of the block is a 1 ha test field, with 0.5 ha of the area featuring 10-meter-wide biochar strips. The field is intended for long-term research on nutrient retention capacity. Excavation of the perimeter ditch on the side of Runkomäki, autumn 2020.
