CIRCULARPILOTS supports SMEs in the real estate and construction sector in their transition to a circular economy.
Real estate and construction sector plays a central role in combating climate change, promoting the sustainable use of natural resources, and reducing environmental impact. Companies in the sector are increasingly interested in strengthening circular economy principles in their operations and developing new, sustainable business models based on them. However, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) often lack the knowledge or resources to implement circular economy practices in practice.
Circular Economy Pilots as a Driver of Green Transition in the Real Estate and Construction Sector (CIRCULARPILOTS) project addresses this need. The main goal of the project is to accelerate the transition of real estate and construction sector SMEs toward carbon-neutral circular economy and green development in the Kanta-Häme region by creating a replicable model for piloting circular economy solutions. The project provides support for SMEs seeking to strengthen their competitiveness and responsibility in a changing business environment. The model helps companies develop and test new circular economy-based solutions that meet both their business and environmental objectives.
In the first phase of the model, companies receive up-to-date information on sustainability, changing regulation, and opportunities to use data and digital tools to support sustainable business practices. During the first phase, the current state of the company is assessed along with its potential for adopting circular economy solutions. In the piloting phase, selected companies continue developing circular economy solutions, supported by expert knowledge and access to HAMK’s laboratory services.
Target group
The target group of the project consists of small and medium-sized enterprises operating in the real estate and construction sectors in the Kanta-Häme region.

The project’s operating area is Kanta-Häme.
