Mozambique faces major problems with youth unemployment and a poor vocational training-skills needed in the world of work mismatch.
We aim to strengthen vocational education and training (VET) -private sector collaboration
and improve the quality and responsiveness of VET.
We aim to address the challenges of low level of VET-Industry collaboration, gender equality, inclusion in the labor market, and digital transformation by skilling VET teachers, as they are the main vehicle for the improvement of quality. To overcome the slow pace of official VET teacher education, we introduce possibilities for VET Teachers’ Continuous Professional Development (CPD) in the mode of short courses for most topical issues.
Target group
The main target groups are the VET teachers and the VET teacher trainers in Mozambique.
Operating area
We operate in different parts of Mozambique during the project. The pilot trainings will be organised in Nacala and Sofala.
Short courses and pilot trainings
During the project, we will develop five short courses on the following topics:
- Gender equality in VET and labour market.
- Inclusion in VET and the labour market
- Digital pedagogy to overcome geographical disparities
- Entrepreneurship for decent income for youth
- VET-Private sector collaboration to increase the responsiveness of VET to labour market requirements
