The KAJASTUS-project aims to meet Finland’s national climate and energy goals, address the challenges of landfill gas management and promote sustainable practices in the energy utilization of landfill gas. Capturing and utilizing landfill gas reduces dependences on fossil fuels.

In the project, we will develop the current recovery methods for landfill gas, solve the challenges of further processing of landfill gas, and share a wide range of information on the matter.

The project will develop measurement and control tools for landfill gas capture, implement pilot actions to improve gas production, and create a future roadmap for gas production for waste management companies. The project will build a foundation for a national working group specializing in landfill gas, which will continue to operate after the project has ended.
