Student communications

The student mobile application Tuudo is free and available for download on Android, iOS, and Huawei AppGallery app stores.

In Tuudo, you can for example:

• register for courses and track your accumulated credits,
• book study spaces,
• check your timetable, restaurant menus or campus maps,
• manage your library matters,
• read important announcements and news related to your studies. Please note: Tuudo also publishes news that, for security reasons, cannot be shared on HAMK’s public website.

To activate Tuudo, follow these steps:

1. Download the Tuudo app from your app store.
2. Open the application and select HAMK from the list.
3. Select the option “Log in with school credentials”.
4. Log in using your username and password. Use the short format of your username, which includes letters and numbers (e.g. x1234@student.hamk.fi).

Purpose and Groups

Viva Engage is HAMK’s private social networking and discussion environment, where all conversations are protected and visible only to HAMK students and staff.

HAMK’s Viva Engage network includes various groups, some of which are official groups used for communication. All students in English degree programmes are automatically added to the HAMKin students group and the Palvelukatkot ja häiriöt // Service breaks group.

We recommend that you also join the following groups: the group for your own degree programme (e.g. Mechanical Engineering and Production Technology) and the group for your home campus (e.g. Riihimäki).

Signing In

You can sign in to Viva Engage at https://engage.cloud.microsoft/ or by signing in to any Microsoft 365 service and selecting Engage from the waffle menu.

It is also recommended to install Viva Engage on your smartphone:

• iOS device
• Android device

Logging in to the mobile app:

1. Open the app and choose LOG IN in the first window.
2. Enter the same credentials you use for other Microsoft 365 services, for example:
   username@student.hamk.fi

NOTE: After signing in, the Viva Engage mobile app asks whether you want to invite others to Viva Engage. All our users already have a Viva Engage profile, so you do not need to invite anyone separately.

Starting from August 2026, news and announcements relevant to students will be highlighted in two different places on HAMK’s website. You will find them on the Student main page and on the Student’s tools page.

In autumn 2026, we will highlight the headlines of student-related news and announcements on the Learn-Moodle front page.

Each campus has info screens located in lobbies or other visible areas. Remember to follow the news feed on the info screens as well!
