Your voice matters! HAMK is inviting Alumni Voices back to campus through the Letter Home campaign.
HAMK invites alumni to share a “letter home”—a personal reflection on life after graduation. Through these stories, we celebrate alumni journeys, strengthen community ties, and inspire current students with real-world experiences.

Share Your HAMK Story
We’d love to hear from you — no matter where life has taken you or what stage you’re in. Your story matters, whether it’s about a new job, a personal project, or simply how your weekend went. Every update helps us stay connected as a community of real people and real alumni.
How to take part
Send your story and photo(s) to alumni@hamk.fi. Please include:
- Your name, graduation year, and degree programme
- Your letter or message: it can be short and conversational or more detailed and reflective. Write about anything you’d like to share: career moves, studies, entrepreneurship, family life, relocation, hobbies, or everyday moments.
- Share a picture(s): a good-quality, landscape image that reflects your current life, work, or surroundings.
We welcome all kinds of stories — from simple updates to major milestones. You don’t need to have big professional goals or extraordinary hobbies to take part. We simply want to give a voice to our alumni and celebrate the real stories that make up the HAMK community.
A Chance to Win a HAMK Care Package
All alumni who take part in the campaign will be automatically entered into the HAMK Care Package Draft.
Three lucky participants will receive a HAMK Care Package with HAMK’s freebies, these will be delivered anywhere in the world. Winners will be notified by email.
Share Your Story — Let Your Voice Be Heard
When you send us your Letter Home, we’ll proudly feature your story across HAMK’s official channels, including:
- Social media posts for shorter letters and highlights
- Feature articles on the HAMK website for longer stories
Your words can inspire current students to imagine their own paths and help us celebrate the achievements of our alumni community.
What Happens After You Submit your story
Once you’ve shared your story, we’ll send you a short thank-you message to confirm we’ve received it.
Our communications team might make small edits for clarity, grammar, or formatting, but don’t worry, we’ll always contact you before making any significant changes.
By sending your letter and photo, you’re giving HAMK permission to share your story along with your name, study background, and photo on our official channels.
If you have any preferences about how your story or photo are used, simply let us know when you submit your entry. We’re happy to accommodate your wishes.

The Letter Home campaign is part of HAMK’s alumni activities. In collaboration with The Moment Project, it offers services and events that help alumni stay connected to the HAMK community. Through these initiatives, alumni can participate in mentoring, expand their professional networks, and access support services that promote personal and career development.
